Reviews
My young, 5-7 year old students lap this up. It starts out slow enough that they can play along with the cd on the first day. That gets their confidence up for "playing with the band." Many of the tunes are familiar folk songs and the made-up ones are also appealing. There is a certain amount of time spent commenting on the drawings... they're pretty goofy. This is not the only beginner book I use but this, along with John Thompson's Teaching Little Fingers to Play, are my most often beginner books for learning to read notes on the staff.
